Radical Nature: Art And Architecture For A Changing Planet

Some of the 50 people dressed as trees performing in Piccadilly Circus, in central London, as part of the Barbican's exhibition: 'Radical Nature: Art and Architecture for a Changing Planet 1969 - 2009.'TO Piccadilly Circus in the Bristol with Old Mr Anorak and chancing upon a happening as part of the Barbican’s exhibition: ‘Radical Nature: Art and Architecture for a Changing Planet 1969 - 2009.’

Some young people are dressed in shades of green and playing at being Robin Hood and his merry men – and woman! Or Pans People.

One man has painted his face and others are raising their arms in the air, in the manner of Moseley’s mob. The drive tells su that these are the Green Shirts not the fascist Black Shirts. Old Mr A says “same difference”.

It looks a bit like an overflow from the Queen’s Garden Party up the road, what with the hideous over-flowered dresses, mad eyes and improvised acting. Old Mr A. says he expects Prince Eddie is very proud of his troupe.

A woman then puts her hand in Eros’s baby drool, with no fear of becoming sickened by the composite blend of London air, pigeon excrement and passing vagrant mist.

It’s a terrific show and Old Mr A says it is with regret he ran over many of the entertainers but the club dinner waits for no man.

It’s Bamboo Trifle tonight!
