Prisoner Hides Mobile Phone And Charger In Rectum

Robert Hartshorne knew he was going to do time for yet another driving offence…so he stuffed a mobile phone complete with charger cable right up where the sun don’t shine and attempted to smuggle them into jail.
Manchester’s Strangeways Prison was on the scent and sharp got to the bottom of it.
The prison officers pinpointed the phone with a new bit of kit called BOSS… Bodily Orifice Security Scanner - which inmates are invited sit on when they arrive.
Magistrates were told Hartshorne, 25, had wanted to keep in touch with his girlfriend because he was worried she might leave him.
He pleaded guilty. Four-month suspended, (him, not the phone) plus 80 hours’ unpaid work.
