7107360MICHAEL Jackson Watch: AEG sells rights to Jackson’s rehearsal footage to Sony for $50million – and so the film of the death of Michael Jackson is being made. As Anorak predicted, the shows goes on.

Our Rat high in the Hollywood Hills has more on the show that will be surely billed not as a money making blockbuster, rather as a  tribute – always the tributes:

It seems like Michael Jackson’s death has single-handedly turned around the Los Angeles economy.

His dad and siblings have been able to boost their income by way of “exclusive” interviews with media outlets in The
States and abroad.

Jackson’s record label has been raking in tens of millions of dollars since his death from people longing to re-live the great gloved one’s golden era of music making.

Now, Sony Pictures and the promoter of what would have been Jacko’s 50-date concert tour have gotten into the act. AEG has sold the rights to Jackson’s rehearsal footage to Sony, and the studio is expected have the film in theaters
before the end of the year.

Sony reportedly paid AEG $50 million for the rehearsal footage, which was originally going to be shown between song performances during Jackson’s London concert dates.

That’s approximately $50 for every seat that was sold for Jackson’s planned performances at the O2 Arena.

Pardon The Big Cheese’s cynicism, but it sounds to him like AEG just made a serious profit. – RR
