Drugs Cop Dies From Heroin Overdose

by | 7th, August 2009

smackFOLLOWING news of the nurse of the year was never a nurse soems news of PC Pilling, who has died from a drugs overdose.

First the nurse:

A 56-year-old woman who was honored at a 2008 dinner as the so-called Connecticut Nursing Association’s “Nurse of the Year,” was charged with pretending to be a nurse… According to the arrest warrent, that association does not exist and Lichtenstein spent more than $2,000 of her own money to stage that dinner.

PC David Pilling, 47, “who was nicknamed ‘Robocop’ for his efforts in tackling drugs“, who has beenĀ  found dead in his Camden flat from a heroin overdose.

An inquest heard yesterday how an overdose of injected heroin killed the officer. Traces of cocaine and Ecstasy were also in his system.

The Mail goes on to say:

He once chased a dealer down a flight of steps in Tottenham Court Road on his motorbike.

And that:

An investigation found he had been looking at websites on how to take drugs just before his death.

Does no detective wonder how a drugs copper was so knowing and hot on drugs – The Sun calls him “the scourge of drug dealers” – that he had to look up how to take them on his home, er, PC?

PC Pilling sounds like a case of deception. But either his superiors are not being entirely straight when they say:

Camden borough commander Dominic Clout said: ‘PC Pilling was a truly valued member of staf f. He displayed no signs of drug use while at Camden.’

The Sun adds:

Police ruled there were no suspicious circumstances over Pc Pilling’s death and this week’s inquest recorded a verdict of misadventure.
