X Factor judge Cheryl Cole new song is released on 26 October. and it;s brave move. In May, American Idol judge Paula Abdul appeared on stage and did a mime that required her singing into not one but two microphones.
Cole’s voice sounds as if it has been filtered though Lady Gaga’s Y-fronts, or Auto-Tune.
Auto-Tune and whatever other technology turns average singers into pop stars explains why there are no longer novelty records in the charts – everyone gets to sound good.
If Arthur Mullard & Hylda Baker sang You’re The 1 That I Want now, their coppices would be processed to like Peter Andre serenading the aforesaid Cole through a lift door.
Why bother to be a novelty act when you can be the real deal, an actual pop star?

You’re taking a chance being less than adoring of St Cheryl of Cole, patron saint of all thats lovely.
But yes, top marks to her, the record is truly crap which really is very hard to do.
