Jaycee Dugard Entertains Oprah For One Million Dollars
JAYCEE Lee Dugard - Anorak’s look at Jaycee Dugard in the news: the human bone, child shopping with Nancy Garrido and Oprah Winfrey wins!
AS ever the media challenge is to make the kidnap, rape and insemination of a child worse:
On seeing the schoolgirl, Garrido is said to have told his wife: ‘That’s the one I want. She’s cute, but she’s with the other kids. Let’s come back later and get her.’ Mr Cardoza added: ‘This was nothing less than a child shopping trip. It just makes their actions all the more horrendous and reprehensible.’
And don’t forget that Jaycee Dugard could be you and yours:
Orlando Sentinel: “Why won’t you let your child walk to school?”
Consider this: In 1969, 41 percent of children either walked or biked to school; by 2001, only 13 percent still did, according to data from the National Household Travel Survey.
Interesting because:
It’s a phenomenon primarily driven by fear — fear of the stranger abduction.
Well, it’s also driven by - and do excuse the pun - cars, and school buses.
The New York Times has more on the Phillip Garrido in your town:
Why Can’t She Walk to School?
Because she’s morbidly obese and the school is seven miles away? Well, no:
“ ‘She’s just so pretty. She’s just so … blond.’ A friend said, ‘I heard that Jaycee Dugard story and I thought of your daughter.’ And they say, ‘I’d never do that with my kid: I wouldn’t trust my kid with the street,’ ” said Katie, a stay-at-home mother, who asked that her full identity be withheld to protect her children.
Don’t let your child be a victim. Dye her hair now and make sure that the news media does not feature her on missing persons! Or adopt a black child and make her walk everywhere.
And you remember that bone fragment found near the Garridos’ home, on a neighbour’s property? CNN has news:
The fragment, which was analyzed by an outside expert, will go on to the state DNA lab for testing, according to an e-mail from Jimmy Lee, director of public affairs for the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. “The expert has determined that the bone fragment found in the backyard of Garrido’s neighbor is probably human,” Lee said. “We will be requesting the state to see if it can develop a DNA profile on the fragment. It should be noted that it is not uncommon to find Native American remains in Contra Costa County,” he said.
And if you need entertaining in the meantime, hereeeeeee’s Oprah:
Jaycee is expected to appear on Oprah in December, for an estimated fee of $1million (£600,000).
Wonder what the advertisers will be pushing in the ad breaks?

Sandii, Sandii, Sandii - take a step back and look where you are - this is a site for commentary on the media, not media commentary and if you can’t tell the difference (which it seems you can’t) then maybe you should go somewhere a bit less stressful for you….?

Life in prison amongst inmates that will give him a hard time. He will be in protective custody all his life and will have plenty of time to think about the things he has done. Punishment enough. Never let out though.

What should we do with this Garrido guy. Keeping him alive seems too merciful and killing him even more so. Is there any other form of punishment that fits this crime. How do you toture a maggot! Torture would only bring this beast pleasure. There are no relatives that we can kill. Maybe if Jaycee has a better life without him it will drive him crazy - well he’s already crazy, maybe a migrain headache or something…….

Jaycee deserves every penny after what she went through because we as a society failed her and her family for 18 LONG years. The last thing Jaycee should ever have to worry about is money. She is 29 and has to get rehabilitated and then begin living the life that was stolen from her at the tender age of 11, beginning with the medical care and education (that they were denied by those monsters) for her and her daughters which will be very expensive.
In the end Jaycee and her daughters have a story of hope to tell and deserve to be compensated for it! They will recover!
May god bless the entire Dugard family.

So would it be better if she appeared for nothing? or not at all?
You are right , there isn’t a price, but surely you should be campaigning for a stiff jail sentence for Garrido, because that might pay for ‘what she went thru’

You sickos,
You are making Jaycee look cheap by the way you have worded the title of the article. For what she went thru’ no amount of millions is sufficient. And you are grudging he the measely 1 million that Oprah is willing to pay her. Go eat some dirt.

Good for Jaycee. She’s been through hell and will need the money. Her mother is single and now, by the grace of God, has Jaycee and Jaycee’s two daughters. Still it will cost money to raise them, including therapy, and attorney’s fees. I hope Jaycee makes millions upon millions after the horrific life she has had to lead. Good for Jaycee and her family. She has a story to tell and it will be told. Why not get paid to do it? God bless Jaycee and her entire family and Oprah for giving the girl a means to get on her feet.
