Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann Runs For Charity

by | 28th, September 2009

THE Express continues to feature the search for Madeleine McCann by focusing on Kate McCann, one person we know had nothing to do with the child’s vanishing.

Such is the state of investigative journalism, the Express leads with a picture of Kate McCann in a singlet with a picture of Our Maddie on the front, and the headline:

KATE McCann runs for Madeleine

KATE MCCANN ran into action yesterday to keep the search for her missing daughter Madeleine in the spotlight.

Job done. The Express and the McCanns are now working in tandem – front-page new and front-chest views.

But is Our Mddie still a big story?

The 41-year-old wore a white vest with a picture of Madeleine on the front and the words “Don’t give up on me” as she participated in the Great Kibworth run near her home in Leicestershire.

The Daily Telegraph takes up the baton:

Mrs McCann, a keen runner, finished a third of a marathon, in support of one of her favoured charities Macmillan Cancer Support…

They were joined by friends including Fiona Payne – a member of the Tapas Seven group of key witnesses in the disappearance of the toddler.

During her Portugal visit Mrs McCann told reporters she cried every day for her daughter and remains determined to “find her and bring her home”.

Later, speaking about the visit, she said: “I think it was a positive move and it actually felt good to be there. I actually felt there was a bit of support for us there now so that helps. Fingers crossed this is the turning point. We’ve had a lot of information come in even this far down the line, there are various reasons why they don’t come forward in the early days.”

Madeleine McCann is missing – but not from the media…
