Now You Can Buy The David Beckham Condom

DAVID Beckham’s sleepy face is to feature on condom packets on sale Madrid’s Thyssen-Bornemisza museum shop.

It’s not a tacky stunt – it’s art, possibly modern art. It’s also a chance to look at Day-vid while you blow up two johnnies and tie them to a broom handle version of Her Poshness.

All condom packet designs are taken from the gallery’s Tears of Eros exhibition later this month, a name that sounds like a euphemism or the name of a Zurich swingers club.

The packets will feature such lures to rubber insulated sex as David Beckham, as seen in Sam Taylor-Wood’s sleeping David video, Richard Avedon’s picture of Nastassja Kinski, and arts by Rodin, Rubens, Maillais and Bernini.

Says Baroness Thyssen, whose husband founded the world’s most highly decorated chemists:

“I don’t see why anyone should be scandalised. It is a way of bringing art and responsibility together.

“I am a practising Catholic, but I think that in these matters it is best to give as much information as possible. It is certainly better than other alternatives, like the morning-after pill.”
