Russian Scam Artists: In Pictures
IN Russia, they don’t sell the Big Issue. If they did someone would only distil it and mix it with anti-freeze to form an enlivening cocktail. The poor are forced to beg.
And with no time to relay a sympathetic back story the poor are forced to look poor, frail and preferably disfigurerd - not hideosly to deter people from looking but just enough to elicit sympathy.
Of course not everyone is genuine. Some beggars aren’t even all that poor. Anorak takes a look:
