Prince Harry And Prince William Covered In Oil: Portrait Photos
TO the National Portrait Gallery to gaze upon the first painted double-portrait of Prince William and Prince Harry, by artist Nicky Philipps. Wills is armed. Harry is holding his hip. Is this the aftermath of a fight? If so then the portrait proves, conclusively, that Prince Hal and Wills do not spend all day drinking, having larks and patronising a select few charities. When occasion demands, they stand stock still to have their portrait painted. Note: The portrait in the background is of the Dowager Anorak, to whom Prince Phillip owes everything…

I think Nostradamus was the Russell Grant of his day. His quatrains have been adapted or even made up to fit in with just about anything from the rise of Hitler to the attacks on the Twin Towers. Sadly, the World still has wars, much as it did back then, so predicting one is hardly the stuff of genius. I predict that within the next hundred years a new war will start somewhere. It will involve quite a big country and maybe a smaller country? The war will be started after the two sides disagree about something. Wow, all bow before me. I am a foretelling genius. His quatrains are so vague they could have been written for 321 starring Ted Rogers. Is that a war between England and France Ted? No, I’m afraid it’s our star prize, a brand new Mini Metro…..
Sorry Mikey. Not convinced!

Harry was born to be England’s future savior. He is the “Red Beard” Nostradamus alludes to in the quatrains about England in the coming 3rd world war. He was destined to choose the military as his life career. As he approaches his 30′s watch for him to grow a beard, which he will become known for… and soon after, the prophesy will be fulfilled. He will go down in history as the bravest hero Britain has ever known.

To be fair, I have never seen either of these young princes in person. However, I must say this much acclaimed portrait looks more like a paint-by-number than a portrait of the royal sons. Where are Holbeins, Bronzinos, and Gowers of today? Such princes deserve a portrait more worthy than this.

Many years ago, I read an interview with Prince Charles. He said he was about six years old, and quite enamored with railroads at the time. He commented that he woke up one morning and realized that he would never be able to have a career as a railroad engineer, and it was very upsetting to him for a while.
Obviously he has recovered, but it does give credence to the idea that British royalty does not have freedom in that aspect of their lives, nor in whom they marry.

Nice to see the lads wearing what appear to be their Queen’s Jubilee Medals which I suppose they got for being in the family business as it were. Not really the most impressive medal to be sporting, unfortunately! You got one for being in the Police, Fire, Prison, etc, for 5(I think) years or more when it was the Golden Jubilee. I remember the proud moment when I got mine.. “Here’s your’s Eggy”… “Cheers!”… “Hang on, you’ve gotta sign for it”… “Oh, sorry”
I would’ve ebayed it but there’s millions of the buggers out there, LOL. One of those 20p pieces with no date is worth more!

They are involved in charity work, and most of the royals are active for individual charities and do attend fund raising events.
Sadly, Diana let the side down when the Red Cross relieved her of the post when she failed to attend any function.
Princess Anne on the other hand does do real and meaningful work, and is the busiest.
The problem with having a career is manyfold – committment is necessary, and if in an executive post have to be seen to pull their weight. Also with them in such a position it would attract many hangers on, which no company wants, and imagine the security needed.
Remember the uproar over Harry in Iraq?
But whatever they do, someone will complain, but they cost the taxpayer 69p each annually, which is rather a lot less than some layabout scrounging gits who probably whine about the royals

June, I do recall reading over the years in newspapers over there and comments at times on here that many people resent supporting the Royalty, who according to many do nothing truly productive. So, my comment was meant maybe they could actually take positions in the private sector – very executive positions- and have a life outside royal duties. Granted once Prince William becomes King that would have to stop.

Why? They were born Royal, so their first Duty is to their country, not to themselves. Its always been that way….except for the late Duke of Windsor.
William is second in line, so he can chill for a time doing his own thing

Those are two handsome young Princes you have over there. They have grown up in the modern world with personalities all their own, quite delightful improper royals at times and young Harry was a typical teen. It will be a pity if they have to spend their lives only doing their Royal Duties and not have productive lives of their own.
