Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi: Release From Scottish Jail Doubles Life Expectancy, Apparently

WAITING for Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi do die.

Writes AGW if the Lockerbie bomber:

Release from Scottish Jail doubles life expectancy…apparently.

Convicted mass murder Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi was released from Greenock Jail on August 20 last year because Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill said he had been told the Lockerbie Bomber had a mere three months to live.

Kenny, above pictured by The Herald, was slated last week by an Inquiry into the release and now has more than a little bit of bother coming next week when the six month deadline rolls up.

MacAskill has been under daily pressure ever since his release decision to reveal more details of medical evidence after it was leaked only one doctor was making the three month prognosis. He has stonewalled every attempt to have him say more.

There are widespread demands the Scottish Government publish details of the doctor’s expertise and qualifications.

Also ringing round Kenny’s ears have been questions over whether the doctor was actually employed by the Libyan government or Megrahi’s (the UK’s worst mass murderer) legal team.
It’s an odds on bet Kenny’s difficulties next week are not likely to be just local ones.

Meanwhile, who speaks for the murdered 270
