Jaycee Lee Dugard’s Diary Of Sex And A Kitten, In Pictures
JAYCEE Lee Dugard: It’s been a while since we heard anything of Jaycee Lee Dugard, the woman kidnapped as a child by Phillip Garrido and held as hostage, bearing two children by her rapist captor. Lawyers for Dugard want Garrido and his wife Nancy prevented from speaking to the victim and her children.
It turns out that Dugard kept a journal. The Mail calls it a “secret diary”. But this is more impression than a fact. Entries:
July 1993: “They did something no one else would do for me, they paid 200 dollars just so I could have my own kitten.”
July 5, 2004: “It feels like I’m sinking. I’m afraid I want control of my life… this is supposed to be my life to do with what I like… but once again he has taken it away…
“How many times is he allowed to take it away from me? I am afraid he doesn’t see how the things he says makes me a prisoner…
“Why don’t I have control of my life! I feel I can’t even be sure my thoughts are my own.”
September 5, 2003: “I don’t want to hurt him… sometimes I think my very presence hurts him… so how can I ever tell him how I want to be free. Free to come and go as I please… Free to say I have a family. I will never cause him pain if it’s in my power to prevent it. FREE.”
Vern Pierson, District Attorney for El Dorado County in California, tells the court:
“Ms Doe [Dugard] has emphatically stated to our office that she does not want any contact with the Defendants or their attorneys. Ms Doe has further stated that she wants our office to enforce her constitutional rights under Marsy’s Law and protect her privacy. It is clear that the Defendant is attempting to use the media and his own attorneys to continue to control Ms. Doe.”
“The People ask this Court to protect Ms Doe and to, once and for all, put an end to the Defendant’s manipulation.”
Can you put an end to manipulation via the media?
The media is there to show and not tell. Only, that is what used to happen. No any speculation is presented to armchair detectives tuning in as fact. Get this:

Details means facts, right? Wrong:
“Oh hell no. No way. There’s no way he stopped doing it with…,” neighbor Sam Kovisto said with a sigh.T…
“A sicko like that is a sicko forever and it doesn’t matter. It’s not like he just wanted little girls though,” he said. “There’s no way that he stopped doing anything with Jaycee. No way.”
Phillip Garrido and Nancy deny kidnap, rape and false imprisonment charges. So. They will have their days and days and days in court, during which time Phillip Garrdio’s every word will be transcribed and debated by the media. We will come to know Phillip Garrido in his own words.
And then when it is all over, will the media come calling on Jaycee Dugard. Will they offer money? Lots of money? Radar reports:
Jaycee Dugard’s family is broke and is in dire need of financial support. After surviving 18 years as a kidnap victim, and giving birth to two daughters by her captor, Jaycee has returned to a difficult financial existence. A California church has been paying rent for the Dugard’s and offered to pay it for a year, according to East Bay Fellowship Associate Pastor Mari Hanes. The church had learned about the family’s financial difficulties from a police officer who belongs to the church.
The Danville church has paid Dugard’s rent for the past four months thanks to donations from its members. The Mercury News reports that people who have been helping the famly say Dugard and her children are in a safe, private and rural location not that far from where she was held captive.
Radar calls it an “Exclusive”. It isn’t. It was reported over a week ago:
Though the church has offered to pay rent for a year, the family is in dire need of financial support, Hanes said Friday. In California, the most any abduction victim ever receives in financial aid from the state is $2,000, she said.
The story will grow soon. It will be huge. And Jaycee Dugard will be all over the media. But will it do her any good?
