IT’S not just the recession, the massive public sector and a falling pound that tells us the 1970s are being revisited: it’s German rock band Tokio Hotel. Lady GaGa is David Bowie without the memorable tunes, and German band Tokio Hotel are doing an impression of The Sweet meets Gary Numan.
We met bassist Georg Listing, guitarist Tom Kaulitz, singer Bill Kaulitz and drummer Gustav Schaefer pose backstage ahead of a show in Oberhausen, Germany. Rock on. Not ‘arf!

Hi to all of you.

Thank you for posting about Tokio Hotel! They hardly get any UK press coverage and it’s great to see even the smallest of articles every now and then! I hope you write more about them in the future =]

Cheers for the positive coverage – I wish the UK recognized how awesome Tokio Hotel is, because Humanoid is truly good melodic rock, that’s impeccably produced, and Bill is everything a rock star should be.
Other current pop acts are all style in my opinion, with Tokio Hotel the lyrics have something in them that move me.

That’s just the lead singer they’re talking about. The entire band Tom, Bill, Georg and Gustav make up a unique combination never before seen in a band.
It’s more like Beetles and Duran Duran revisited when you look at the whole band together in interviews or on Tokio Hotel TV episodes.

I couldn’t work out if the one on the right (first pic) was a girl or boy when I first saw him.
It reminded me of my mum and dad’s reaction when they saw Boy George for the first time.
I must be getting old.

Who is Bill Klutz? Looks like a guy in drag in the photo. Is this a musical?
