Susan Boyle Loses £4Million
SUSAN Boyle, who celebrates her birthday on April Fool’s Day, “will pocket £20million this year as her second album hits the shops”. So says the Mirror.
The People factors in a recession:
Singer Susan Boyle celebrates her 49th birthday on April 1, but says: “I’m no April Fool – I’m going to be worth £16million by next year.”
She’s lost £4million?
The Daily Record says Susan Boyle is buying a £300,000, 1,700sq ft five-bedroom home.
The Sun is gazumped:
SINGING sensation Susan Boyle is bidding to buy her dream home – for a quarter of a million pounds.
The Mail has more facts, telling its readers that the home is “just yards from a police station”.
Should the Celebrity Police Force tire of nicking Pete Doherty and want to meet Boyle for walking with eyebrows or some such crime, they need only to stroll up the road for a photo op.
In other Mail news:
At the centre of it all, of course, is Susan herself, someone who has struggled all her life with learning difficulties since being deprived of oxygen at birth.
She seems to have learnt how to make money and keep her fame going pretty well. Still, lest you think the Mail is victimising Boyle, Paul Bracchi tells us:
This is not being patronising or unkind.
No. Like all newspapers, it’s just sticking to the facts.

Percy, I’m not spellbound at all. Granted I have her CD and on my i-pod as I enjoy listening to her sing. However, it is what she showed to the world that an unknown ordinary woman from a small village in Scotland captured the hearts of millions throughout the world overnight with just singing one song. One would think the UK would be proud of her fame she brought to them. When people hear SuBo they know instantly where she is from. How many people worldwide when hearing a sports player’s name know instantly if they are from the UK?
As for Charles ever being on the loose and a potential down the road for her, Camilla is not going to let him go, she waited for many long years to have that ring on her finger.

Susan Boyle’s voice on her CD is quality stuff and her songs entertaining to listen too. Her life has changed so rapidly, and I’m pleased that she has received praise from new fans around the world. The USA is the biggest music market in the world, but British No.1 records haven’t been very common in recent years. I noticed that a British artist did recently hit No.1 in the American charts. A young man called Tiao Cruz with his song “Break Your Heart”.
There is a tremendous amount of music and creative talent in the UK, and, a show like “Britain’s Got Talent” has discovered many super talent people. This TV exposure giving them all unique opportunities to show their talents and to become famous.
Good luck to Susan Boyle. When she walked onto the stage of Britain’s Got Talent most people listening to her speak thought she was a joke.Well, until she started to sing……in 10 seconds they realized that she DID have talent and a very good voice and THEY were ALL wrong !

Yes Percy. Cynical you are! She is a bit of a phenomena in that we all love a rags to riches story. and she can sing… that original youtube clip still makes the hair on my neck stand up.
I know your feelings are hurt but its your own fault, you should have gone for the @SuBo like I told you at the time.

dear Cheryl, please forgive me if you think I am being overly silly, cynical and satirical when it comes to SuBo but methinks you are being overly syrupy and sentimental and projecting a bit too much goodness onto what was essentially a talent show stunt called SuBo Sings….
March 28th, 2010 at 3:22 pm
Cheryl…it sounds like you are so spellbound by SuBo that nothing less than making her a saint woud do for you….how about we confer the title of Saint SuBo , the patron saint of Scottish karaoke singers, on this very ordinary but nice lady.
Another option could be SuBo marries into Royalty for a title..don’t laugh.. it happened to Camilla….and if Charles is ever on the loose again.. SuBo could be seen as a catch…

Cheryl
HM appears to bestow honours on people; but they have to be nominated by other people and approved by HM Government first, and there are only two occasions in the year, the New Years honours and the Birthday honours, and a lot of them are for volunteers for charities and other good works and many household names have waited for years, sometimes never for an honour. As you say its an ‘Honour’ , not a ‘right’ and it has to be for the common good, or it used to be for the common good, SuBo has had a lot of personal gain, and her talent was hers and not conferred on her.
Many of our young men and women who have risked life and limb for this country never receive an honour.
March 28th, 2010 at 1:16 pm
That you did, dear Percy! What has surprised me is she has not been ‘recognized’ by the UK for the true treasure she is and the great fame she brought to the UK literally overnight. Her Majesty bestows awards on sports players and others who excel in their fields but this ordinary woman who sang a song and brought people figuratively to their feet throughout many countries in the world overnight has never been recognized for what she did for the UK.

vallery…i’m sure that subo does’nt read anorak..but if she did…she sounds ike such a kind soul that she would probably send you her c.d. for free…if of course her management would agree.
i’m sure if you wait a while it will be to buy a second hand copy on sale in your local charity shop for 50p.

…and might I just add…without sounding like too much of an ego…that the nickname I created for Susan beat the hell out of the media created monicker…”The Hairy Angel”…and like all good virals…I have just had to sit back and watch SuBo grow & grow.

Susan.
You go girl. Im proud you came out and let the world know that you can sing as well if not better than a lot of singers.
You go ahead and buy you a new house. and enjoy every minute of it.
I wish i could get one of your cds, but i cant affort one, my grandchildren could listen to your music while going to sleep.
I think your music is very soothing. and relaxing.
GO GIRL from someone that is a great fan of yours

It seems that their are still some at the Mail that struggle with learning difficulties . Take the spelling of Susans nickname for example…in the same article they refer to her as Subo ..and then SuBo…..surely I kept it simple enough …even for the stupid or slow …so for the last time….it is “SuBo”…and I should know as I created it on this Anorak flow.

She’s probably right , in fact by the time the taxman has finished, it’ll be even less than £16m.

Nice one, Paul
