Woman Arrested And Jailed For Wearing Feminist T-Shirt In Court
THE message on Jennifer LaPenta’s T-shirt reads: “I own the pussy, so I make the rules.”
The 19-year-old is waiting in the Lake County Courthouse, in suburban Chicago, for a friend to be called. Associate Judge Helen Rozenburg spots LaPenta’s T-shirt. The Beak doesn’t like it and charges the woman with contempt of court.
Rozenburg orders that LaPenta be locked in jail for 48 hours. She is handcuffed and led away. Says she:
“They just threw me in jail. They never told me what I was going to jail for… All the officers thought it was hilarious — it was humiliating.”
LaPenta is gay and says the judge is a “homophobe”.
Rozenburg failed to comment but is thought to be owner of a really tough“pussy”…
