Helpful Russians On Hijacked Tanker Return Somali Pirates To Their Boat, Everyone Dies

NO sooner have the British gone long on Somali piracy to save the nation’s finances than the Russians scupper the whole plan:

The 10 pirates were captured last week after seizing a Russian oil tanker but were then unexpectedly released, with Russian officials saying there was insufficient legal basis to keep them in detention and that they would be too expensive to feed.

“According to the latest information, the pirates who seized the Moscow University oil tanker failed to reach the shore. Evidently, they have all died,” the high-ranking source was quoted as saying by Russia’s official news agencies.

Having recaptured the hijackers, the law-abiding and above all fair Russians invited the pirates to get back into their own boat and set off for land. The pirates had no navigation aides and no guns. Radio contact was lost “within an hour”.

Rumours that one of the Russian’s plank is missing are believed to be wide of the mark…
