THERE was a minute’s silence for Derrick Bird’s 12 murder victims. Memorial services will be held throughout west Cumbria where father-of-two Bird ran amok, firing at friends, family and passers-by. Floral tributes in memory of Rugby player Garry Purdham, 31, at the scene of his shooting in Gosforth near Seascale in Cumbria ahead of memorial services which take place later today, one week on from the shootings in Cumbria, which left 12 dead, after taxi driver Derrick Bird, 52, drove through the countryside taking potshots at random people.
