IN readiness for the The Open Championship 2010 at St Andrews, Fife, Scotland, John Daly smoked and blended in with Mama’s Cass’s net curtains.
In front of Daly stood Tiger Woods. That’s Daly with his charm, ease and inability to comply. And that’s Woods, with his charm void, self–interest and corporate swagger. Well, kids, who do you want to be? Of course you want to be Woods. This is golf, a after all, a sport that was once chauvinistic and protectionist. But that was before Tiger Woods came along and changed everything.
