Did Bosnian Grandma Really Save The Puppy Girl’s Dogs?

by | 7th, September 2010

THE girl filmed tossing six puppies into Bosnia’s Vrbas river has been given a firm telling off by police (surely murdered by animal lovers? – ed), and all but one of the creatures have been rescued by 75-year-old Rose Pavlovic, aka Ruža Pavlović.

Well, so she says. But of the six puppies tossed, one was white and five were black and white. Rosa is seen cradling and feeding the five darker dogs, some with tan markings. The white dog is gone.

Says Rose:

“I was with my brother in our house eating some potatoes, beans and other green. I heard a scream, but I did not know where it comes from because it is near the creek. When I looked a little better, I saw the black dogs trying emerge from the water.”

She fished them out and took them to her brother’s home.

They are alive and well, drinking three litres of milk a day. Four are up for adoption.

So. It’s a happy ending, right?
