Champion Budgie Penmead Pride Stamped To Death In Cornwall – Facebook Erupts

by | 8th, September 2010

CHAMPION Budgie Penmead Pride has been stamped to death at its home in Cornwall. Round up the usual suspects Mary Bale, the Red Riding Hood puppy tosser and the man who did for Adam Faith. And get the Facebook groups started:

The Budgie Killer Must Be Stamped To Death – for the sane

Budgie Killer You Legend – for the sick

Van Caged Birds Or Die! – for the righteous

The story goes that budgie breeder Andrew Pooley went to inspect his birds and was met by silence and death. In all, 21 of his prized birds had been stolen (value: £2,000) and top bird Penmead Pride had been stamped to death.

Says Mr Pooley, secretary of the Caged Bird Society:

“As soon as I opened the door, it was so quiet, I knew something was wrong. I looked around and saw the birds were gone and I panicked.

“Then I looked on the floor and I saw Penmead Pride was dead – he had been stepped on. The person or people who did this only targeted my show team.”

He adds:

“Since the attack, seven more have died just from shock, it’s completely destroyed my faith in humanity.”

Can’t help but think the police would have a better chance to nab the culprit had a parrot been there to witness things…
