Kent Police Fail To Spot Dead Man Had Been Murdered By Knife Sticking From His Back

by | 12th, October 2010

KENT police did not notice that Antoine Denis, 66, had been murdered. They did not see the knife sticking out of his back. That is not their department.

Mr Denis’s body was found in the bedroom of his flat in Chatham, Kent, in January 2010. The police’s brains’ trust concluded that the lifeless body was dead. They called the undertakers – and they noticed the 4.7in) knife stuck in the dead man’s back.

The local coroner Roger Sykes tells the inquest in Maidstone, Kent:

“My understanding is that in the process of the undertaker’s preparation it was discovered there was some blood and indeed a knife and at that stage investigating officers attended.”

Det Con Linda Robb explains the police’s position:

“That is true. I think because of the flat being in darkness and him lying on his back there was no outward sign of anything untoward.”

Which is why the police have torches…
