The Bali Green School: Bastion Of Jet-Set Green Colonialism

by | 7th, December 2010

THE Green School is in Indonesia, 20 minutes north of Denpasar. The aim of the school is to give..

“…students a relevant, holistic and green education in one of the most amazing environments on the planet”.

It is so green that the school’s website has a section about relocating to Bali, perhaps by canoe or rowing boat.

Not all of the teaching staff are locally produced. On the staff, are globe-trotting Britons, Canadians, Americans, Australians, and a Mexican.

But local students can come to learn, so long as they can stump up the $750.00 registration fee – non-refundable – $2,000 deposit, and $9,262.50 annual fee for older scholars.

Once arrive in Bali, and green fees paid, your children need to get to class:

Many students come to school by car and car pooling is a popular option. New parents will be encouraged to contact parents who live in the vicinity to join existing or create new car pools and the school provides a contact list which facilitates this.

A greener school might involve just going to one within walking distance, or learn at home. Still, the photos are nice:
