Julian Assange’s Arrest: Photos, Snowmobiles And London

by | 7th, December 2010

WIKILEAKS founder Julian Assange has been arrested. Anorak stood outside Westminster Magistrates Court in London to see if the helicopter would arrive on cue. We looked for the snowmobile to slide into view. We looked for the rescue. But it never came.

All that arrived was a regular saloon car and a man with the back wearing David Gower’s old hair. Why Assange has been arrested, you can read about here. It is a story high on innuendo and sensation but seemingly low on shame and criminality. Read it all and see what you think.

One other thing: this story is now centred on London. Of all the places an international fugitive and news source can hide, Assange chose London. Something about that makes this writer glad…

Assange is accused by the Swedish authorities of one count of unlawful coercion, two counts of sexual molestation and one count of rape.
