WINIFRED Crowther is dead. She has been knifed. Her husband, Frank Crowther, is badly injured. The couple were found at their home in Sutton, south London. Bad news. Grim news. But how can it fly? How can the story be packaged to make it matter? Well, the BBC tells us that Winifired is not a statistic nor a person in her own right – she is Leslie Crowther’s sister-in law.
She did not die in vain.
