Al Gore, Sheryl Crow And Gisele Bundchen Open Homes To Homeless
AL Gore (his ark of hope), Sheryl Crow and Gisele Bundchen (and her blue lagoon) and the Guardian - does it uses all of its offices, stairwells and toilets, all of the time? – open your doors: George Monbiot says its time to turn your places into a kibbutz, prison or Green Shirt approved camp:
Your housing footprint is the number of bedrooms divided by the number of people in the household. Like ecological footprints, it reminds us that the resource is finite, and that, if some people take more than they need, others are left with less than they need.
How much space do you need? The Nazis said nine Jews could sleep on a single bunk. Communism advocates a kommunalnaya kvartira. Noah, of course, had room for everyone.
Get in your box, people…

Noah only had room for 2 of each kind, though, didn’t he? and did they all have to bunk up, that’s the burning question…?

I felt so guilty when I read about our housing footprint that we converted one of our spare bedrooms into a snug/office. Now we are housing footprint neutral we feel much better about ourselves and we have a comfy room to watch the rest of the season’s premiership matches in if they clash with anything the current Mrs Y wants to watch. We also have a place where I can work from home like just before Christmas when we were all snowed in. Thank you Mr Al Gore.
