Wikileaks And Gabrielle Gifford: Julian Assange Says He Should Be Guilty Of Murder?
WIKILEAKS founder Julian Assange is unhappy with all that American rhetoic (but not the hysteria) in light of the Jared Loughton murders and calls to have him sentenced to death in the US. He goes on Twitter and says: “Wikileaks: Treat incitement seriously or expect more Gabrielle Gifford killing sprees.”
And then says:
“But when senior politicians and attention seeking media commentators call for specific individuals or groups of people to be killed they should be charged with incitement – to murder. Those who call for an act of murder deserve as significant share of the guilt as those raising a gun to pull the trigger.”
Firstly, we do not know why Jared Loughner shot 20 people, killing six of them. There are a lot of possible reasons.
Secondly, you may recall when Julian Assange said of trouble in Kenya:
“1,300 people were eventually killed, and 350,000 were displaced. That was a result of our leak.”
Later he denied it, in a way that got a lot of attention in the media:
“WikiLeaks has a four-year publishing history. During that time we have changed whole governments, but not a single person, as far as anyone is aware, has been harmed.”
So. By Julian Assange’s own theory, should he share some of the guilt?
