Did Anti-Gay American Missionaries Play A Part In David Kato’s Murder?

by | 27th, January 2011

CAN David Kato’s murder in Uganda can be linked to US Christian missionaries in Africa and their extreme anti-gay fervour?

The missionaries’ associates had a hand in Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill, which calls for gays to be hanged. (Mr Kato’s killers opted for the iron bar. Mr Kato was head of Sexual Minorities Uganda – Smug (?!) – and had been targeted for execution by a small circulation paper called Rolling Stone.)

The NY Times profiled the men, one is called Scott Lively:

Mr. Lively has acknowledged meeting with Ugandan lawmakers to discuss it. He even wrote on his blog in March that someone had likened their campaign to “a nuclear bomb against the gay agenda in Uganda.”

This treatment of Elton John looks ridiculous. But it is no joke.
