IN Tahrir Square, Cairo, supporters of President Hosni Mubarak, clashed violently with protestors looking for regime change. Can the sudden eruption of violent pro-Mubarak rioters be linked to the fact that for days we have been hearing that the police have disappeared from Cairo’s streets? Have the police re-emerged, albeit out of uniform?

On the scene was CNN’s Anderson Cooper, he “was punched 10 times in the head as pro-Mubarak mob surrounded him and his crew trying to cover demonstration.” Cooper’s head is the secret of his success. You can start a riot. You can throw stones. But never – never – got for a American newsreader’s hair…
