Nikitta Grender: No Suspects As The Father Sees His Dead Child

by | 9th, February 2011

NIKITTA Grender: 50 police are said to be working on the murder in Newport, Gwent. They are searching for the weapon that stabbed her twice, once fatally.

Not one national newspaper features the murder of the pregnant teenager on its front page. Her body was found by fire crews putting out a blaze at her home.

The woman murdered on Saturday February 5, has failed to capture the imagination of even the red tops. Is the story being ignored because the victim was a Welsh non-blonde – a pregnant teen? Maybe. But it was a full week before the disappearance of educated, middle-class blonde Joanna Yeates was leading the news cycle.

As for news, we hear more of Ryan Mayes in the Sun:

THE shattered boyfriend of murder victim Nikitta Grender paid a touching tribute to their “beautiful” baby daughter – after seeing the child’s body. Doctors allowed Ryan Mayes to view the little girl after she was removed from 19-year-old Nikitta during a post mortem examination.

He leaves a message on Facebook to his dead daughter:

Heya my angel so glad that i seen our little girl today she was beautiful she had ur eyes my hair and our nose. Who ever have done this bbe they are going to get caught for what they dne… angel im missin u every second.

Both of u made my world n that world cnt be put bk together because of som sick horrible person… sleep tight my angels.

We hear from Nikitta Grender’s mother:

Kerry Evans, 36, said Kelsey-May was due on February 17, the day her son, Ryan Mayes, was due to turn 18: “This baby was everything to them, the baby made them even closer it’s just so tragic, I can’t see how he’s going to rebuild his life.”

The couple had planned for the baby and Miss Evans said they had been getting ready for the new arrival and had a nursery in the flat.

She said: “It’s their first child and they were over the moon, everything was ready down to the clothes in drawers. Everything was ready for this baby to come now it’s been taken away, it’s terrible.

“It is just so tragic, I can’t put into words how cruel this world can be – he’s broken, there’s no words to describe how he’s feeling.”

No clues. No suspects.
