King of Kings Gaddafi Stands On His Pedestal As Libya Despairs

LIBYA: Worry yet note people of the Arab lands for your King is still on the golden sands:

As Gaddafi told us in 2009:

I am the leader of the Arab leaders, the king of kings of Africa and the imam of the Muslims.

The King of kings is on the telly. From his throne in the back of a van, he pokes his head out the side door, unfurls a brolly to keep his drown from getting wet and says:

“I am here to show that I am in Tripoli and not in Venezuela. Don’t believe those misleading dog stations.”

Or as someone else put it:

And on the pedestal these words appear:
“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!”

Not all the  British press believe that Gaddafi is in Libya. The Express, Mirror and Mail says Gaddafi has fled. The FT says he “clings on”. the Independent wonders if he will go or not go. And the Guardian and Times say that if he is going he’s taking the country down with him.

Where’s Gaddafi?

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command

And on the pedestal these words appear:
`My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!’
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay

The lone and level sands stretch far away”.

Although, on a clear days you can see the BP oil works…
