Rebecca Godden-Edwards Is Chris Halliwell’s Second Body
THOSE were the remains of Rebecca Godden-Edwards that Chris Halliwell led police to at Baxter’s Farm, Eastleach. Halliwell has been charged with murdering Sian O’Callaghan. His alleged second victim has a name.
On the website Missingyou.net, her mother had written:
“Karen Edwards is trying to trace the location of Becky she has been missing for 8 years, and I need to contact her urgent or just to know that she is ok! can anyone help? she could also be in the Bristol area.”
Not one media organisation mentioned her when the speculation as to the identity of the woman was rife. Melanie Hall – blonde and attractive – was the media’s favourite body. Maybe they missed Miss Godden-Edwards because:
The source said: “She had a big falling out with her family, that is why they did not report her missing until 2007. There were drug addiction issues. Her family are distraught, as you can imagine. We haven’t pushed them yet on all the detail.”
Still, the innocent victim is a young woman, so the papers will feature her (and look out for the first article that criticises the victim or her lifestyle). Men who go missing get little coverage in the mainstream media…
