London’s Bomber Command Memorial: The Few In Photos

RAF Bomber command Veterans (left to right) John L Cox, Gordon Mellor, Alf Hubrerman, Michael Beethham, Doug Radcille and Bill McFadden, met at the ceremony for the laying of the foundation stone for the Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park, London.

Also there was Robin Gibb, who never as one of The Few, but who does know about mining disasters and Saturday Night Fever, and proves that everything needs a celebrity to make it newsworthy…

The Altazimuth Building, part of the Greenwich Royal Observatory, which has been badly damaged by a high explosive bomb during an enemy air raid. The telescope inside was blown of it's stand and the transit circle smashed, but all the delicate parts and lenses were not seriously damaged and all can be reassembled.
