Dan Aykroyd Has 21,000 Bottles Of Vodka Stolen From Him

by | 12th, May 2011

POOR old Dan Aykroyd. He’s currently mourning the loss of 21,000 bottles of vodka stolen from him. He was, apparently, planning on drinking them this weekend as well.

Of course, these bottles where is own brand of vodka and they were swiped from a warehouse in California. (Everyone is eyeing up the ghost of John Belushi suspiciously.)

The movie star (who, for the record, always slightly bugged this writer in his role as Dr. Raymond Stantz for having his head in a car engine while smoking a cigarette, which seems rather dangerous) is the founder of the Crystal Head Vodka company (a reference, presumably, to the time he was fellated by a spectre in Ghostbusters, which no-one ever seems to mention), which sells the booze in extravagant skulls shaped bottles.

Sadly for Aykroyd, his firm fell foul to a heist when a large consignment of the vodka, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, went walkies.

If the thieves don’t flog it, they’ll have one hell of a time and a bitchin’ hangover to match.

The actor says he’s “distressed and elated” by the theft, saying:

“My partners and I are sorry to lose this much vodka to theft and do not condone criminal activity in any fashion, but we are happy that some consumers will be afforded the opportunity of tasting it at significantly lower than retail price.”

Whaddaguy! Look for his films on DVDs, which he surely also loves…
