Did Blackburn Council Know Osama Bin Laden Was In Its Twin Town Of Abbottabad?

LOCAL newspapers love a local angle to the big story. and so it is that the Lancashire Telegraph reports that Abbotabad, the the Pakistani town where Osama Bin Laden was hiding, was in a school twinning partnership with Blackburn.

The British Council’s Blackburn Abbottabad Partnership, in association with Connecting Classrooms, fostered ties between the place and Daisyfield Primary School, Beardwood Humanities College and St Thomas and St Matthew’s primary schools.

Coun Maureen Bateson, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s executive member for children’s services, said: “It was such a coincidence, we couldn’t believe it. The school phoned us to ask for advice, and I would hope something like this doesn’t necessarily stop the links from being there.”

The local councillor could not believe that Blackburn, a town with a notable Pakistani community, had links with a large town in Pakistan? Why is this so hard to believe? Is the council in the habit of knocking on the doors of all houses in all town it twins with to see if a wanted man is living there? If not, why not? This must not be repeated. Think of the kids!

Says the paper:

Under the programme, children in Blackburn have exchanged letters with youngsters in Abbottabad, the city 30miles north of Islamabad where the Al Qaeda chief was found and shot dead by US soldiers last month.

Blimey! Letters is bad enough – but what if they had graduated to parcels?

As ever the comments are brilliant:

Bin Laden killed by American Drone plane whilst living on Inkerman Street. Blackburn Lancashire UK”

“Blackburn Council apply for Inner City rebuilding grant”
Sort of sums it up what an absolute dump this town is”!
PS – I went to “Beardwood Humanities College” when it was called Billinge Grammer School – How thing’s change!

I don’t know why they just don’t re-name Blackburn “New Islamabad” and get it over with.
And England cld be re-named “Englandistan”.
That might keep the muslims and their patrons in NuLabour happy for a while.
I tell you this – NuLab’s immigration policy has done more long-term damage to our country than the Third Reich ever did.

Yea lets rename blackburn to Islamabad (which means Abode of Islam) and bring in shariah law!

Next week, the paper reveals that Blackburn was once twinned with Altena, a town in the district of Märkischer Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia. It’s the area that during the Second World War was the centre of German arms production. Think on…
