Japan Rugby’s Ryohei Yamanaka Fails Drugs Test For Trying To Grow A Moustache (Photos)

PITY Ryohei Yamanaka, a 22-year-old fly-half for the Japan national rugby union team. He says he attempted to grow a moustache by rubbing an unguent on his upper lip. Problem is that the cream contained a banned steroid. When Yamanka was drugs tested, he failed.
He now faces a six months’ ban that would rule him out of the World Cup that starts in New Zealand on September 9.

It’s an odd explanation – and one wholly out of keeping with the current state of men’s grooming, in which the hairless of chin and chest are praised. Yamanka should embrace his smooth body as his teammates in the scrum embrace bits of men to hang on to in the tackle…

Of course, moustaches can make a difference. Barack Obama tried and failed. This lot looked better with one:
