THERE’S a slide at the Overvecht Station in Holland. Only the slide is called a “transfer accelerator“. It allows commuters to reach the train faster.

It’s a great idea. And it will surely catch on in the UK – just as soon as South West Trains have worked out a system of fines for anyone unable to use the slide to reach the upper concourses…
