Harry Redknapp Says Samir Nasri Went To Manchester City For The Cash: Pope still Catholic

by | 27th, August 2011

SAMIR Nasri is seeking to explain why he left Arsenal and rejected their offers of £90,000-a-week – for 185,00-a-week at Manchester City:

“[Man City] have the biggest squad and they showed it last year when they won the FA Cup and finished in front of Arsenal. So, the facts talk for Man City. I hope to win titles. I played at a high level with Arsenal but I never won anything.”

Harry Redknapp, the Spurs manager, chimes in:

“I don’t believe that, no. He could have gone to Man United. He wanted to go to Man United, that’s what I heard. But then Man City came in and offered him more money again so he went to Man City. That’s how it goes. It’s just a shirt and off we go.”

This would be the same Harry Redknapp who left Portsmouth for bitter rivals Southampton and then returned to Portsmouth – and who says that Chelsea target Luka Modric should be paid more for,er, honouring his contract at Spurs (when he’s in the right state of mind to play)..?
