4-year-old Zak is held by his mother Sophie Lindop outside Birmingham High Court, Birmingham. The family, from Blurton, Stoke on Trent, were awarded a six figure sum after Sophie’s fiancé and Zak’s father Malcolm Drake was misdiagnosed with a groin strain when he actually suffered from Crohn’s disease. Mr Drake died from blood poisoning on Christmas day 2007 after his bowel perforated.
