Divine Arabic Markings Appear On American Passenger Jets

by | 22nd, September 2011

WHEN Fox News reported of “Mysterious messages that appeared to be scrawled in Arabic writing on the underbellies of several Southwest Airlines jets“, we raised an eybrow.

The writing appears to have been etched using a chemical process and is visible only after an auxiliary power unit is turned on.

Are these markings mysterious because they are markings on a jet that only show up under an “auxiliary power unit” (it heats up the paint)? Are they mysterious because they are Arabic?

If Arabic is mysterious, why not get an Arabic speaker to take a look at these marking and help crack the mystery?

Also, Fox News tells us:

The airline denied that the vandalism posed a safety or security threat.

Yeah. Sure.

Reuters adds that the markings have been known about for some time. And:

One employee told ABC15 it’s not uncommon for ground crews to write their names or airport in the dirt on the planes, but said the recent markings were different.

How different?

A company-wide internal memo from Southwest Airlines Executive Vice President Mike Van de Ven, obtained by ABC 15 in Phoenix, explains that “these unauthorized markings typically appear as symbols or words tagged on the exterior of the aircraft.”

“We need our employees to be aware of a situation that is taking place. Beginning in February, we received reports of markings on our aircraft, and recently these reports have increased,” it said.

So. They might not be Arabic at all? They might just look like they are Arabic.

And even if they are in Arabic, might they be good news – a sign of God’s love?
