Lottery Winner Angela Dawes’s Son Demands More Than £101Million To Mend His Heart

WHEN Angela Dawes and Dave Dawes win £101mllion on the lottery, the tabloids set about seeing if they could expose them as undeserving of fortune. The Sun arrives first. It introduces Angela’s “bitter son”, 17-year-old Steven Leeman, of Wisbech, Cambs.

Steven alleges Angela booted him out of the family home aged 12 when she also tossed out his dad. His lament begins with the wonderful line:

“As far as I’m concerned, I don’t have a mum.”

Only he does. And you can read about her in the Sun.

He goes on:

“There is nothing she could do to make up for what she has done to me and my dad.” Since she kicked me and Dad out, I’ve seen her ten or 15 times in town and she just walks straight past me. She doesn’t even acknowledge me, it’s like I’m not there. If she phoned me and said sorry and offered to give me £10million or even all the money she has won, I wouldn’t forgive her.”

Phew! Angela must have agonised over who to make rich and who not to. She plans to give £20 million to “pals”. With Steven and his dad off the list, other names may now feature.

Although the lad does add:

“I hope she does the decent thing and pays the money she owes my dad — about £20,000.”

Says dad John, who, as luck would have it, talks in tabloid English:

“She’s a love cheat who fleeced me.”

Adding:

“She cleared the bank accounts and ran up a £4,000 overdraft. I’ve had my car repossessed. She then changed her name to Dawes to avoid paying maintenance. It’s three-and-a-half years since the divorce. I’m now working 60 hours a week to pay our bills. We have basically not got a pot to p*** in… she has cleared me out.

“When Steven asked what was going on, he was told ‘If you don’t like it, f*** off’.

“Two days later I received a phone call saying ‘Meet me in town’. She threw a bag of his clothes at me and said ‘As far as I’m concerned, you are both dead’.”

Or as Angela Dawes puts it:

“I’m saddened by these reports. A lot of what has been said since my divorce has been untrue and very hurtful. I’ve always wanted to be in contact with my son who I love dearly and very much still want to rebuild our relationship.”

Well, Angela, news is that £101million isn’t enough. You’ll need to win the lottery again or get a job to top up any offer to win over young Steven…
