Hurrah For Occupy Panton House: Boring Strike Livened Up With Pointless Occupy Romp (Photos)
THE Occupy Stock Exchange Movement became the UK Uncut Occupy London protest today, moving inside Panton House, a building on Panton Street, near Piccadilly Circus in central London. Riot police cleared the building of the protestors, who were almost outnumbered by media zooming in on the fun. Who wants to film strikers protesting about their boring pensions and being made to work into their dotage when you can focus on better looking younger anti-capitalists wearing masks – like real cartoon rebels – running amuck in an office block?
Panton Houses houses a Pizza Express and the offices of the mining company Xstrata, whose chief executive, Mick Davis, is the highest paid CEO of all the FTSE 100 companies in the past year, Occupy London claims.
A Scotland Yard spokesman says:
“Twenty-one arrests have been made for the unauthorised entry into Panton House for a variety of offences including burglary, aggravated trespass, criminal damage and assault on police.”
Get in there. This is better than those strikes, even if they did have some terrific banners and signs…
