Tian Tian And Yangguang Make Panda Mania At Edinburgh Zoo (Photos?)

by | 4th, December 2011

TIAN Tian (Sweetie) and Yangguang (Sunshine) have arrived to live in Edinburgh, having been jetted into Scotland aboard the Panda Express.

You’ll be able to follow the Chinese envoys on the internet, their movements captured by hidden cameras.

Alex Salmond, Scotland’s First Minister says:

“As panda-mania hits Scotland, and we extend a warm Scottish welcome to Tian Tian and Yang Guang. The great gift of these giant pandas symbolises the great and growing relationship between Scotland and China which we will take further when vice premier Li and I meet and discuss Scotland and China’s business, cultural and diplomatic links which are growing ever stronger to the benefit of both nations.”

A panda can do all that. Who knew? If Libya or Iraq had had cuddly bears as national mascots, the West may have smiled more kindly on their leaders and brutal regimes. If Syria’s President Assad wants to save himself, he should adopt a panda bear and wear it about his shoulders at all times. No, Assad. Nooooooo! Ting Ting needs to be alive… Oops!
