George Michael and Prince Philip locked in newspaper death match

by | 24th, December 2011

GEORGE Michael and the Duke of Edinburgh are two sides of a tabloid death coin. Will the singer or Prince Philip, for it is he, die first and give the media a Christmas croaker?

The papers make their choice. Those that lead with George Michael are:

The Sun: “It Was Touch And GoGo”

The Independent: “George Heals The Pain”

Daily Star: “It Was Nearly My Last Christmas”

While George Michael’s illness gives tabloids a chance for a pun, the Prince’s health is delivered in starker tones for the papers that lead with him:

Daily Telegraph: “Duke’s heart surgery”

Daily Express: “Philip heart attack scare”

The Scotsman: “Duke of Edinburgh suffers heart scare”

Merry Christmas!
