Nodding disease threatens Uganda’s Brussels Sprouts farmers

by | 26th, December 2011

TO northern Uganda, where ‘nodding syndrome’ is striking down the locals. Reports are of children and adolescents nodding violently when they eat food.

What can trigger the disease.? Minds turn at once to Brussels Sprouts. Your child is not sat before the now stone cold veg rocking backwards and forwards while emitting huge wet sobs because they are being ‘bloody minded’ and ‘ungrateful’. They are ill. Also do not threaten to send them to the starving children of Africa. They don’t want them.

One other theory is that the disease is triggered by a parasitic worm responsible for river blindness.

It also hates sprouts…
