Stephen Lawrence: David Norris jailed min term imposed of 14 years 3 months

by | 4th, January 2012

STEPHEN Lawrence murderer David Norris has been sentenced to a minimum 14 years and 3 months prison.

Minimum term for Stephen Lawrence murderer Gary Dobson is 15 years and 2 months.

Mr Justice Treacy says the men have shown no remorse. He says there was premeditation – att last one of them was carrying a weapon. He says Dobson lied to protect Norris. He takes racial aggravation into account: the murder was committed “for no other reason than racial hatred”.

Which one of Dobson and Norris will tell the truth first? Which one will expose the police when a deal for a reduced sentence is offered?

Says Met Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe: “The other people involved in the murder of Stephen Lawrence should not rest easily in their beds.”

Neither man uttered a word as they were sent down.

Gary Dobson’s father shouts “shame on you” – but not to his son.

The Judge has ordered the Metropolitan Police to continue with the investigation.

Michael Mansfield QC, who represented Lawrence’s parents notes on the BBC that after Dobson and Norris have served their minimum sentences, they may not be immediately released: “I suspect they will serve more than the minimum.”

This one will run and run.
