Dorset man tries to murder wife with petrol tanker

by | 20th, January 2012

TO Wool, Dorset, where, reportedly, Hugh Billington, the driver of a fuel tanker that crashed into Christine Billington’s bungalow and burst into flames, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Say police:

“A 51-year-old Yeovil man has been arrested in Wool on suspicion of attempted murder and is helping police with their inquiries. The arrested man is believed to be known to the occupant of the house.”

The man, allegedly, drove a red Watson Fuels tanker at the house. Watson Fuels is based in Brinkworth, Wiltshire. Ms Billington runs the dog-grooming firm called Paw Prints, which is registered to the address in Wool.

Dramatic stuff, indeed. And given the price of fuel, if it was a murder attempt, it was a bloody expensive one…
