Amanda Holden: Hollie Rose Hughes in bloody miracle

by | 26th, January 2012

AMANDA Holden, reality TV show judge and former Mrs Les Dennis, is all over the front pages. She has given birth to Hollie Rose Hughes at a private hospital. Holden was 40 and eight months pregnant.  There is is talk of blood transfusions and intensive care. How do we know this. Well, “sources” say. Let’s take a look at those font-page stories:

“Amanda’s fight for life after giving birth to a girl” – Daily Mail

Amanda Jolden is dying?

“Amanda – Miracle baby battle” – Daily Star

Amanda Holden’s baby is a miracle proof of God’s existence and love for mankind?

“Amanda and new baby almost died” – The Sun

Almost? The Sun is the only tabloid to pretend it was there to witness the actual birth: “He [husband Chris Hughes] watched as she gave birth to 6lb Hollie — but joy turned to horror as Amanda collapsed, bleeding heavily.”

“Amanda Holden ‘critical’ but gives birth to her girl” – Daily Express

Amanda Hodlen is very ill? The paper says Holden became “‘critical’ in intensive care with a mystery condition…”

“Amanda is baby hospital drama” – Daily Mirror

AMANDA’S experiences will resonate with many women. Anyone who is concerned about their health, or that of their unborn baby, must do what she did and refer themselves to their doctor and midwife. Placenta previa occurs in one in 200 births when the placenta develops in the lower part of the womb. But thanks to ultrasound scans, the placental position is known long before labour.

Mystery solved?
