Alyssa Bustamante said she murdered Elizabeth Olten, because she “wanted to know what it felt like”.
As she wrote:
“I just f*** killed someone. I strangled them and slit their throat and stabbed them now they’re dead. I don’t know how to feel atm…I’m kinda nervous and shaky though right now. Kay, I gotta go to church now…lol.”
In a Missouri court, Bustamante, now 18, is the subject of a debate whether she should get a life sentence.
Bustamante has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Has she planned to murder?
In late 2009, Bustamante had dug two holes in the woods. A few days later she murdered Olten.
In mitigation – is there anything? Bustamante’s father is in prison. He reveals a family riven by drugs depression and suicide attempts. Bustamante’s mother abandoned her. The killer lives with her grandmother.
Bustmante wanted to talk. She wrote:
“If I don’t talk about it, I bottle it up, and when I explode someone’s going to die.”
So. Does she spend her life in prison?
