Lagarfljótsormurinn wormzilla monster spotted in Iceland – video

by | 9th, February 2012

IS this a photo of the fabled Lagarfljótsormurinn river monster swimming in Iceland’s Fglacial river Jökulsá í Fljótsdal?
The Lagarfljótsormurinn is said – by those who can – to live in lake Lagarfljót. But Hjörtur Kjerúlf’s video could prove that the beast is on the move.
Legend has it that Lagarfljótsormurinn was a worm placed on a ring of gold to make the gold grow. The worm grew but the gold ring did not. Upset, the owner tossed the worm into the icy water.
The story evokes powerful iamges – and a thought: if the Lagarfljótsormurinn is to be an internaioanl; monster it needs a better name. Yeti. Nessy. Big Foot. Lagarfljótsormurinn? We suggest something easy like megaworm, womzilla or Fabio…
