by | 16th, February 2012

GAVIN Hill, a 29-year-old bus driver from Bristol, has been convicted of using the bus “as a weapon” against cyclist Philip Mead.

Mead had complained that Hill had gotten too close to him. Outside Bristol Magistrates’ Court, Hill overtook Mead and veered into him. Mead’s leg broke.

Hill has been sentenced to 17 months prison.

Judge Mark Horton said the driver’s action “was not an accident”.

Hill’s brief called it “a moment of madness”.

Mead is lucky to be alive.
